About Darren Christiansen Arts
Darren Christiansen grew up in Lyons, Colorado fishing the St. Vrain River with his brothers and father.  This is where his love of nature and fly fishing began and it still inspires his paintings of trout today. He paints in oil on a board surface that has been prepared with gesso and sanded smooth. All paintings are from photographs of trout the artist has caught in Colorado and other western states. Custom painting of other's trophy trout has become a large part of his painting. Working from snapshots provided by the client, he faithfully reproduces the trout in exact detail.
